WEB GEMS- Top 4th: Roger Bresnahan blocked the plate, saving a run!
First baseman Hank Greenberg rocketed 3 homeruns and had 6 RBI as the General
Motors Corporate Jets crushed the Verona Ridge Roadrunners 25 to
7.
Greenberg was really in 'the zone'. He smashed a solo-shot out of the park in
the 2nd inning, doubled plating a run in the 2nd inning, cleared the fences
for a two-run home run in the 4th inning, doubled which plated a run in the
5th inning, cracked a solo homerun (his 8th of the season) in the 8th inning
and delivered a single in the 9th inning. General Motors lit up the
scoreboard in the 2nd inning which saw them plate 7 runs on 6 hits, the 8th
inning with 5 runs on 5 hits and the 9th inning when they had 5 runs on 6
hits. The General Motors offense was great, scoring in 7 of the 9 innings.
Addie Joss(1-3) was the winner allowing 6 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings. The loss
was charged to Nolan Ryan(1-2). 'I was really seeing the ball today,'
Greenberg said 'I wish it was always this easy.'
