The Vermont Saps nipped the E Street Outlaw Petes in 10 innings 5 to 4 at the
ballpark in a hard fought contest.
The game was deadlocked at 4 after nine full innings. Vermont won the hard
fought contest in the 10th inning. After two outs Jim O'Rourke blasted a
solo shot (his 1st of the season). Vermont had 8 hits for the afternoon
while E Street had 5.
The victory was credited to Trevor Hoffman(1-0) who went 1 and 1/3 innings,
allowing 3 runs. Hoffman got relief help from Francisco Rodriguez who gained
credit for his 1st save. Randy Johnson(1-1) ended up with the loss. He
struck out 14 batters in 10 innings despite losing the game.
